Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself. They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved! Psalm 80:14-19
Benjamin was born the third of eight children and grew up in a house filled with the love of God and the love of music. He trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of five and at the age of twelve was called into full time Christian ministry.
Benjamin graduated in 2005 from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. He was the recipient of the Music Honor Award as well as the President’s Award for servant leadership on campus. In 2010, he graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary where he received a Master of Theology in Pastoral Leadership. Upon graduation, he received the H.A Ironsides Expository Preaching Award, given to the student who is deemed by the faculty to be the most proficient preacher in his class. He also received the Fred C. Lincoln Award in Christian Service.
Benjamin has a heart for missions and the spreading of the Gospel throughout the world. His love and passion for the Gospel has burdened him to lead mission teams all over the world. It was while leading a team on a mission trip to Vladivostok, Russia that Ben would meet the love of his life and future wife Julie. She was serving as a missionary in Russia when God allowed their paths to cross. Ben likes to tell their story and how God’s hand was truly involved in their entire relationship. He jokingly tells people that he “searched to the ends of the earth to find her”. Ben and Julie were married on October 22, 2011.
Ben and Julie are blessed with three children. Don Edward, Bennie, and Hope Anne.
There are two rules that Benjamin lives by in life that he inherited from his father: Do what is right, and have a great time. Ben loves to read, watch and play sports, and spend time with his family. He has written music and sings with two of his brothers in a southern gospel trio. Most importantly, he loves wrestling with Don Edward and Bennie on the floor of their living room.
Ben has a passion for the glory of God to be seen through the Body of Christ. He believes that there is no greater avenue to reach the world than the local church. It is Ben’s love and passion for Jesus Christ and the local church that propels him in shepherding, preaching, teaching, counseling, evangelizing, singing, and living for the Glory of God.
Pastor Mark Gold
You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. Matthew 5:13
I was raised in a home that acknowledged God but didn’t follow Him. My sister and I were made to attend church but my parents didn’t go. The church was a great place for friends and fun. When I was 13 I had “too much fun” and the Pastor ask me to never come back to church again. I was so angry I determined to never go to church again.
In college though I began to sense a spiritual desire and I began to “check out” religions. I even dated a witch for a short time. One night as I was studying a friend came to my room with his Bible. I laughed because he was the school drug dealer. What I didn’t know was that he had had a radical encounter with the claims of Jesus Christ. I wasn’t interested in his story but he read one Bible verse to me. Jesus said, “I am come to give you life and give it to you abundantly.” (John 10;10)
What a fool I had been! I had looked into all those other religions and never paid any attention to the promises and claims of Christ.
That night, I committed my life to become a dedicated follower of Christ. I had almost no idea what that meant, but I trusted Christ. What a joyful life I’ve had. It’s not always easy and there have been some horrible family and community problems, but Christ directs me, protects me, and takes me thru every situation.
I have been married to my wife Karen for 40 years. We have 3 children and 8 grand children. 5 years ago my wife and I had the chance to choose how we wanted to spend the rest of our lives. YOUTH, EVANGELISM, RURAL were the 3 descriptive words we chose.
We have now spent 42 years helping the local church reach, train, and equip the local youth with the Gospel offered us freely by Jesus Christ. It’s been our joy to work on staff under 4 great Godly, pastors, be part of three nationally recognized youth ministries, lead 120 interns, and help 70 rural churches with their youth ministries.
Now we are working regularly in six other countries training the youth leaders in their churches to spread the Gospel and train even more youth leaders.
